Team Beast 18U Gold Releases 2024 Summer Schedule

Huntington, NY - The 2024 summer schedule for Team Beast 18U Gold has officially been released with a full slate of premier softball competitions. 


“We are very excited for our 2024 Team Beast 18U Gold schedule assembled for this summer”, said Jamie Apicella, Director of Softball Operations. “We are playing in five premier college showcase tournaments, where our players will have an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in front of college coaches from all across the region. In addition, our players get a chance to compete against the top players and teams across the region.”


Kicking off the summer schedule, the 2024 Super 40 & Elite College Showcase is set to take place June 1-2 in Carteret, NJ. Also highlighting the schedule is the East Coast Summer Showcase taking place on June 8-9 in Pennsville, NJ. 


Team Beast will be back in action during the independence week holiday with a return to the TNT Summer Showcase Classic in Quakertown, PA July 4-7.


The summer season will close out with trips to the Northern Exposure Summer Showcase (July 19-21) in Meriden, CT and New England’s Finest Showcase (July 26-28) in Plainville, MA. 


“Every year we discuss and assess what our players are looking for with their experience and where they want to attend college”, Apicella added. “We then formulate our schedule that fits the profile of our teams and where they will face some of the best competition. The countdown begins as we continue to prepare for our opening tournament in Carteret, NJ on June 1st.”

Huntington, NY – Newsday announced its annual list of the top 100 Long Island softball players for the 2026 season on Thursday. The list included the following 18U Gold Players: Katie Burke (2026 - East Moriches, NY) 3B The Adelphi University commit batted .609 with five home runs, 37 RBIs and 35 runs and was a Newsday All-Long Island second team selection. Breya Kesler (2027 - Miller Place, NY) LF Kesler hit .324 with a .964 OPS, 27 RBIs, 20 runs and seven extra base-hits. Katherine Krayewski (2028 - Kings Park, NY) SS/2B Krayewski hit .494 with a .561 OBP and a 1.197 OPS. Laney Vomero (2026 – Miller Place, NY) SS The Stony Brook University commit had a 1.275 OPS, 22 RBIs, 19 runs and 12 doubles to earn All-Long Island second-team honors. Erin Wolfe (2026 – Bay Shore, NY) P/UTL The St. Anselm College commit hit .459 with a .527 OBP, .703 OPS and 11 stolen bases. Wolfe struck out 61 batters over 58 innings. Kate Schweitzer (2026 - Commack, NY) P Schweitzer, the Suffolk Large School Pitcher of the Year had 247 strikeouts, a 1.14 ERA, .106 batting average against and picked up 20 wins. She was named to Newsday’s All-Long Island first team. “Congratulations to Katie, Breya, Katherine, Laney, Kate, and Erin ,” said Director of Softball Operations and Player Development Jamie Apicella . "We wish them the best of luck with their prospective seasons.”
