18U premier's tompkins commits to east Stroudsburg university
Huntington, NY - Kaitlyn Tompkins, Team Beast 18U Premier/Oceanside High School (Rockville Centre, NY) has committed to NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University, where she will play for veteran Head Coach, Jaime Wohlbach. The Warriors compete in the highly competitive and prestigious Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Director of Softball Operations and 18U Gold Head Coach, Jamie Apicella commented on Tompkins' commitment announcement:
"Kaitlyn arrived at Team Beast with goals of developing her skills and taking that development to the next level. Kaitlyn plays OF for Team Beast. Her speed and ability to track softball in outfield makes her your prototypical center fielder. Kaitlyn gets great jumps on ball and has the ability to take proper angles at all three outfield positions. Consistent with her throws from outfield she has transformed herself into a very efficient player on defensive side. Offensively Kaitlyn has a very simple and repeatable swing. She works hard on her mechanics and has developed into a solid contact hitter for Team Beast. Because of her speed, she bats at top of lineup and is relied upon to get on base. Has been a productive table setter for the Premier team. Kaitlyn is a strong student who will be pursuing a Business degree at East Stroudsburg. Her commitment to her studies and softball on the field makes her a true student-athlete. Congratulations to Kaitlyn and her family on this amazing accomplishment. We are so proud and happy for you and know you have a bright future ahead of you. We are excited to follow your career at East Stroudsburg University. Go Warriors!!"
18U Premier has resumed team workouts to prepare for the 2026 summer season.
