18U gold's Bryant commits to wheaton college
Huntington, NY - Sadie Bryant, Team Beast 18U Gold/Miller Place High School (Miller Place, NY) has committed to NCAA Division III Wheaton College, where she will play for veteran Head Coach, Erin Miller. The Lyons compete in the New England's Men's and Women's Conference.
Director of Softball Operations and 18U Gold Head Coach, Jamie Apicella commented on Bryant’s commitment announcement:
"Sadie has followed in many of her Miller Place High School teammates footsteps, having the desire and passion to learn softball at a high level and taking her skillset to the collegiate level. Her hard work and dedication to softball has not only afforded her this opportunity but has prepared her to play at Wheaton College. Sadie brings versatility and athletic skills that will give Coach Miller many options. Her range and fast twitch reactions make her a college level third baseman who also possesses a strong throwing arm. Fun to watch her play the hot corner. Always diving and sacrificing her body to make a play for her team. Covers the 5/6 hole like no other, with a high IQ for situational play. This ability also translates to corner OF play. Tremendous range and athleticism, which allows her to make highlight reel type plays. On the offensive side she is a gap-to-gap hitter with the ability to hit long ball. Last HS season she was amongst County leaders in HRs. Sadie is ready for the next level, and we are excited to follow her journey. Wheaton College is a very competitive academic institution, always ranked in the top 100 of liberal arts institutions. Sadie has excelled academically in high school, which has allowed her to earn acceptance into Wheaton. She will be pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant or Physical Therapist. We know she will be successful with any career path that she pursues. Congratulations to Sadie and her family on this amazing accomplishment. We are so proud and happy for you and know you have a bright future ahead of you. We are excited to follow your career at Wheaton College. Go Lyons!"
18U Gold will begin the fall season this weekend (Oct. 3-4) at the Jersey Outlaws Fall Showcase in Jackson, NJ.
