Beast 23U Releases 2026 summer league Schedule

Huntington, NY— After capturing back-to-back Island Fastpitch Summer League College Division championships, Beast 23U enters the summer with the same expectations that has defined the program: compete, develop, and chase another title. With a roster loaded with experienced collegiate talent from NCAA Division I, II, and III programs, Beast 23U will once again bring one of the most complete and competitive groups in the league.

The schedule opens on Tuesday, June 16 at 8 p.m. against Storm Academy at Rath Park Pistillo Field in Franklin Square, NY. From there, Beast 23U will head into a strong run of league matchups at Tanner Park Field 3 in Copiague, NY, beginning with Long Island Shockwaves on Tuesday, June 23 at 8 p.m. Beast will then face the Lady Nightmares on Tuesday, June 30 at 8 p.m., Long Island Rage Fastpitch on Tuesday, July 7 at 8 p.m., and the Lady Nightmares again on Tuesday, July 14 at 8 p.m.

The defending champions return to the field with a roster that reflects the depth and strength of Long Island softball. Beast 23U features players competing at high-level college programs in the east region:

Returning to lead the program this summer is Head Coach John Forneiro (Northeastern University ’96), alongside Assistant Coach Leah Mele (LIU Post ’19) Together, they bring experience, leadership, and a championship mindset to this group. 

As two-time defending champions, Beast 23U will carry a target on its back, but this group is built for the challenge. With proven college talent, championship experience, and a competitive schedule ahead, anticipation is already building for another exciting summer for Beast collegiate softball.

The road to a three-peat begins June 16.

Huntington, NY – Newsday announced its annual list of the top 100 Long Island softball players for the 2026 season on Thursday. The list included the following 18U Gold Players: Katie Burke (2026 - East Moriches, NY) 3B The Adelphi University commit batted .609 with five home runs, 37 RBIs and 35 runs and was a Newsday All-Long Island second team selection. Breya Kesler (2027 - Miller Place, NY) LF Kesler hit .324 with a .964 OPS, 27 RBIs, 20 runs and seven extra base-hits. Katherine Krayewski (2028 - Kings Park, NY) SS/2B Krayewski hit .494 with a .561 OBP and a 1.197 OPS. Laney Vomero (2026 – Miller Place, NY) SS The Stony Brook University commit had a 1.275 OPS, 22 RBIs, 19 runs and 12 doubles to earn All-Long Island second-team honors. Erin Wolfe (2026 – Bay Shore, NY) P/UTL The St. Anselm College commit hit .459 with a .527 OBP, .703 OPS and 11 stolen bases. Wolfe struck out 61 batters over 58 innings. Kate Schweitzer (2026 - Commack, NY) P Schweitzer, the Suffolk Large School Pitcher of the Year had 247 strikeouts, a 1.14 ERA, .106 batting average against and picked up 20 wins. She was named to Newsday’s All-Long Island first team. “Congratulations to Katie, Breya, Katherine, Laney, Kate, and Erin ,” said Director of Softball Operations and Player Development Jamie Apicella . "We wish them the best of luck with their prospective seasons.”
