Team Beast 16U Announces 2025 Summer Schedule

Huntington, NY - The 2025 summer schedule for Team Beast 16U has officially been released with a full slate of premier softball competitions.

"We are thrilled to announce our 16U team's summer schedule," said Director of Softball Operations and Player Development Jamie Apicella." This group has worked extremely hard since last fall, and they will have an opportunity to showcase that work this summer at these competitions."

Kicking off the summer schedule, the 2025 Super 40 & Elite College Showcase is set to take place May 31-June 1 in Carteret, NJ. Also highlighting the schedule is the East Coast Summer Showcase taking place on June 7-8 in Pennsville, NJ.

Team Beast will be back in action during the independence week holiday at the TNT Summer Showcase Classic in Quakertown, PA July 3-6.

The summer season will close out with trips to the Northern Exposure Summer Showcase (July 11-13) in Meriden, CT and New England’s Finest Showcase (July 25-27) in Plainville, MA.

Last fall was the first time 16U competed together, participating in four showcase tournaments. In addition, the team participated in the 2024 Lasorda Legacy Fall League, compiling a 6-1 record and taking home the league championship. Mia Troiano (2027 - North Bellmore, NY) was named the league's Player of the Year, and Keira Legge (2029 - Mount Sinai, NY) was named Pitcher of the Year.

"This team finished strong last fall, and the momentum carried over into winter training," added Apicella. "We expect that momentum to carry over into the summer."

Six 18U Gold Players Named to Newsday Top 100

Huntington, NY – Newsday announced its annual list of the top 100 Long Island softball players for the 2026 season on Thursday. The list included the following 18U Gold Players: Katie Burke (2026 - East Moriches, NY) 3B The Adelphi University commit batted .609 with five home runs, 37 RBIs and 35 runs and was a Newsday All-Long Island second team selection. Breya Kesler (2027 - Miller Place, NY) LF Kesler hit .324 with a .964 OPS, 27 RBIs, 20 runs and seven extra base-hits. Katherine Krayewski (2028 - Kings Park, NY) SS/2B Krayewski hit .494 with a .561 OBP and a 1.197 OPS. Laney Vomero (2026 – Miller Place, NY) SS The Stony Brook University commit had a 1.275 OPS, 22 RBIs, 19 runs and 12 doubles to earn All-Long Island second-team honors. Erin Wolfe (2026 – Bay Shore, NY) P/UTL The St. Anselm College commit hit .459 with a .527 OBP, .703 OPS and 11 stolen bases. Wolfe struck out 61 batters over 58 innings. Kate Schweitzer (2026 - Commack, NY) P Schweitzer, the Suffolk Large School Pitcher of the Year had 247 strikeouts, a 1.14 ERA, .106 batting average against and picked up 20 wins. She was named to Newsday’s All-Long Island first team. “Congratulations to Katie, Breya, Katherine, Laney, Kate, and Erin ,” said Director of Softball Operations and Player Development Jamie Apicella .
