18U Gold's Wolfe commits to merrimack College
Huntington, NY – Erin Wolfe, Team Beast 18U Gold (Bay Shore, NY) has committed to Division I Merrimack College (North Andover, MA) where she will play for decorated Head Coach, Jill Gagnon. Merrimack competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, home of some of the most successful softball programs in the East Region and the country. Erin also plays at Bay Shore High School, which has a rich tradition of success in New York State. The Bay Shore program has produced and developed some of Long Islands strongest and most talented players over the years.
Director of Softball Operations and 18U Gold Head Coach, Jamie Apicella commented on Wolfe’s commitment announcement:
" Erin is a flat-out athlete that can literally play anywhere on the field. Since the 1st day of joining us at Team Beast she has been all in and committed to her craft and her team. Primarily a second baseman Erin has literally played every position on the field. Not only has she played every position on the field, she plays each one at a high level. In addition to her positional play she has pitched many valuable innings for us. Erin is one of the fiercest competitors to come through the Beast program. Afraid of no challenge in front of her, she is a true competitor. In regard to Erin's offense, she has a consistent, repeatable swing. Always catching barrels and making contact so that translates into hitting 3rd in the lineup. Gap to gap hitter with the ability to drive ball out of park. High IQ player who loves the game and will make an immediate impact at Saint Anselm. Erin will be pursuing a career in the sciences, with a planned course of study in Chemistry. Her work ethic on and off the softball field makes Merrimack College the perfect fit. Congratulations to Erin and her family on this outstanding accomplishment. Team Beast 18U Gold has concluded the summer season will resume team activities next month to begin preparation for the upcoming fall season.
