18U Gold's lopez commits to Farmingdale state college

Huntington, NY - Emily Lopez, (2025 - Miller Place, NY) has committed to Division III Farmingdale State College. Farmingdale competes in the Skyline Conference where they have competed at a high level for many years. Emily also plays for Coach Timmons at Miller Place High School. Miller Place is coming off a spectacular year being the New York State runner up, winning both the County Championship and the Long Island Championship.

Director of Softball Operations and 18U Gold Head Coach, Jamie Apicella commented on Lopez’s commitment announcement:

"Emily is a first baseman who can also play a corner outfield position. Handles 1B very well and is a great target over at the corner. Teammates feel she will catch anything over there and are confident that she will make the tough play when needed. Her offensive prowess sets her apart. Hits for power to all fields. Exit velocities in the 70’s. Middle of the lineup hitter that puts fear in opposing pitchers. Emily also has an awareness and a great approach at the plate. She continues to work very hard on her skills and fundamentals, which has led to this opportunity at Farmingdale. Emily is still undecided on her course of study at Farmingdale State but is leaning towards a degree in Sports Management. Congratulations to Emily and her family on this outstanding accomplishment. We are so proud and happy for you and know you have a bright future ahead of you. We are excited to follow your career at Farmingdale State College."
