Huntington, NY - Kate Schweitzer, Team Beast 18U Gold/Commack High School (Commack, NY) has committed to NCAA Division III Rowan University , where she will play for Legendary NFCA Hall of Fame Head Coach, Kim Wilson . Coach Wilson, one of the winningest all-time coaches in NCAA Division III softball, enters her 30th season as Rowan’s head coach for the 2026 season. The NFCA Hall of Fame coach has led the Profs to ten New Jersey Athletic Conference titles and 21 NCAA Tournament appearances, and 6 NCAA National Championship Tournament appearances, including three consecutive trips to the finals site in 2023, 2024, and 2025. All of Kate's hard work has led her to an opportunity to play for Coach Wilson. .

Director of Softball Operations and 18U Gold Head Coach, Jamie Apicella commented on Schweitzer's commitment announcement:

"Kate arrived at Team Beast in search of an environment where she would continue her development and thrive in a program with a positive culture that fit her skillset and allowed her to reach her ultimate goal of playing for an accomplished college program, such as Rowan University.

Kate's accomplishments at the High School speak for themselves. Kate was recently selected to Newsday's Long Island's Top 100 Softball Players. In 2025 her accomplishments are off the charts.

Kate is an elite pitcher at this level. She is the combination of a power pitcher with command over every pitch, including a devastating off speed pitch. Batter's just cannot formulate a plan off of her because you never know how she is going to attack the strike zone. Her ability to change planes and work east to west is superior to her peers. And just when the batter thinks she has timed her up she mixes in a deceptive change up. Kate is a true competitor, and her teammates play very confidently behind her because they know most of the contact, when put into play, will be weak contact. Kate continues to improve as she continues to work on her craft with some of the best mentors the game has to offer locally. In addition to her prowess in the circle, she has tremendous potential on the offensive side. Kate possess a simple, mechanically sound, repeatable swing. She has the ability to drive the ball gap-to-gap and is an offensive contributor for Commack HS and Team Beast Gold. If given the opportunity at collegiate level, she can offer contributions in the lineup as well as the circle. Huntington, NY – Newsday announced its annual list of the top 100 Long Island softball players for the 2026 season on Thursday. The list included the following 18U Gold Players:

Katie Burke (2026 - East Moriches, NY) 3B

The Adelphi University commit batted .609 with five home runs, 37 RBIs and 35 runs and was a Newsday All-Long Island second team selection.

Breya Kesler (2027 - Miller Place, NY) LF

Kesler hit .324 with a .964 OPS, 27 RBIs, 20 runs and seven extra base-hits.

Katherine Krayewski (2028 - Kings Park, NY) SS/2B

Krayewski hit .494 with a .561 OBP and a 1.197 OPS.

Laney Vomero (2026 – Miller Place, NY) SS

The Stony Brook University commit had a 1.275 OPS, 22 RBIs, 19 runs and 12 doubles to earn All-Long Island second-team honors.

Erin Wolfe (2026 – Bay Shore, NY) P/UTL

The St. Anselm College commit hit .459 with a .527 OBP, .703 OPS and 11 stolen bases. Wolfe struck out 61 batters over 58 innings.

Kate Schweitzer (2026 - Commack, NY) P

Schweitzer, the Suffolk Large School Pitcher of the Year had 247 strikeouts, a 1.14 ERA, .106 batting average against and picked up 20 wins. She was named to Newsday’s All-Long Island first team.

Huntington, NY – Katie Burke, Team Beast 18U Gold/Westhampton Beach High School (East Moriches, NY) has committed to Division II Adelphi University , where she will play for Head Coach, Katie Apostolopoulos . The Panthers compete in the highly competitive and prestigious Northeast-10 Conference . The NE10 is one of the most successful conferences in the country in college athletics. Adelphi softball has a rich tradition of success dating back to the early years when they competed as a division I school. Always competing for conference championships and consistently in running for East Regional Titles.

"Katie arrived at Team Beast for strictly training purposes about a year ago. This past fall, she tried out and made our Gold team and made an immediate impact in all facets of the game. Katie is a 5+ tool player. She is a physical presence on the field with amazing athleticism and speed for her physical stature. Can run and steal bases whenever on with a high IQ for the game. Led the team in almost every offensive category. The two statistics that stand out is her OPS (1.267) and her slugging % (.732). In addition, batted .512 against a very competitive fall schedule. What makes her unique is she never strikes out. Always putting ball in play with exit velocities in the mid 70's. Katie bats in the 3 and 4 hole for Team Beast as well as Westhampton High School. This potent bat will be a force in the NE10 and East Region for years to come. Immediate impact player at the Division II level. Standing at 5'11" you would think corner infield is where she should play. Katie is an amazing third baseman with above average arm strength and range. Plays shortstop for her high school team and has played there this fall for Team Beast as well. Very versatile player that will offer Coach A. many options at Adelphi. The Lions compete in the East Coast Conference and is always a contender for the East Region title.

"Brooke is the ultimate utility player. She literally can play any position on the field with the exception of pitcher. Brooke has played mostly catcher and OF but has been used at 3B as well. What makes Brooke unique is her speed. She is the fastest kid on team and creates havoc on the base-paths with her uncanny base running instincts. On the offensive side of the ball Brooke leads off for us. She has a tremendous bat to ball % leading team in BABIP. Always on base with ability to barrel balls to all parts of field. Once on base that's where the athlete takes over. Usually on 3B before you blink your eye. Brooke will make an immediate impact at Molloy and the Lions will be getting a true competitor. Since Brooke has arrived at Team Beast, she has always been prepared and willing to do anything asked of her. Has great energy and knows how to deal with the ups and downs of the game. You can never tell if she is doing well or struggling because she has a team first mindset. Brooke is very coachable and willing to learn to improve her game on a daily basis. She adapts to any situation and challenge on the field. Brooke has been fortunate to attend Sachem North HS and play for such an accomplished coach as Coach Ken Sasso. The Arrows have produced some great players over the years and are always vying for a county title. Olivia's game is speed. Initially she came into organization as a lefty hitter that had great speed. As she evolved as a hitter, she added slapping to her game and that's where she took off on the offensive side. She is consistently putting pressure on opposing defenses. Once on base has the ability to steal bases and go first to third on base hits. Being a lefty hitter and lefty fielder she plays both corner outfield positions for Team Beast as well has the ability to play first base. "Alyssa joined Team Beast over a year ago with her goal of taking her talents to the college level. Alyssa brought to Team Beast great energy and the willingness to do anything asked of her. She is a second baseman by trade, but because she had some experience behind the plate, at Islip High School, she has helped out with depth at the catching position. A true-blue collar player with a team first attitude. Initially, Alyssa was rostered on our 16U Gold team but was quickly elevated to our 18U Gold roster. She's a very adaptable player that is always in fast twitch mode. Never gets cheated at the plate and is always in her feet. Great energy to be around and has the ability to lift the spirits of her teammates all the time. Enjoys playing the game and is always ready to compete. Versatile athlete that offers a lot to a college lineup. Contact hitter that is always on base. Very aggressive player on the defensive side of the ball as well. Has a high IQ and is a leader on her teams, demonstrating that her team comes before oneself. Huntington, NY - Taylor Aschettino, Team Beast 18U Gold/Rocky Point High School (Miller Place, NY) has committed to Division III Western Connecticut State University , where she will play for long time Head Coach, Heather Stone . West Conn competes in the Little East Conference where they have seen success under Coach Stone. The Wolves have made 5 NCAA appearances over the last 20 years with LEC titles in 2013 and 2016. Over those 20 years, Coach Stone has eclipsed 400 wins and is always competing for an LEC title and a chance to advance to NCAA regional play.

Director of Softball Operations and 18U Gold Head Coach, Jamie Apicella commented on Aschettino’s commitment announcement:

"Taylor came to us just about a year ago looking for a change of scenery and new challenge. Surrounded by some of the best talent on Long Island, Taylor hit the ground running. She was like a sponge learning from her coaches and learning from her peers. Eager to take her game to the next level, she was all in and committed to fitting in right away. Taylor is her hardest critic. Always chasing perfection and wanting to do her best. That trait has fit right in with her peers at Beast and her players gained a respect for her almost immediately as well as the coaching staff. Taylor's is an infielder for our Gold Team. Mostly a second baseman but has also played a little third base. Taylor takes great angles at second base, has a strong throwing arm and excellent range and athleticism. Footwork and glove work continue to improve and is one of our players that's not afraid to leave her feet to keep the ball in the infield. In regard to her offense, this area has improved immensely since arriving to Beast. Taylor has committed to working on her swing and continues to gain more confidence. Had a strong HS season at the plate followed by a very productive summer season with some big hits in pressure situations. Arguably our most improved player over last year's seasons. We are excited to see what the upcoming months bring. Taylor is also an excellent student and is going to pursue a degree in Health Sciences at West Conn. She would eventually like to be a practicing Sonogram Technician.C ongratulations to Taylor and her family on this outstanding accomplishment. Huntington, NY - Bailey Brown, Team Beast 18U Gold (Southampton, NY) has committed to Division II Pace University , where she will play for long time Head Coach, Claudia Stabile . Pace is another institution that competes in the Northeast-10 Conference , home of some of the most successful softball programs in the East Region and the country. Pace is coming off a historical run during the 2025 season. Pace represented the East Region in the 2025 College World Series after defeating back-to-back representative Wilmington University (DE) in the Super Regional.

Director of Softball Operations and 18U Gold Head Coach, J amie Apicella commented on Brown’s commitment announcement:

"Bailey is a unique player for Beast 18U Gold. Reason being she plays baseball at the varsity level at Southampton High School. She pitches for the baseball team because of her amazing arm strength and mechanics. Bailey came to Team Beast knowing she wanted to compete at college level playing softball. She has committed to hard work both on the softball field and in the hitting lab. Countless hours of hard work, Bailey has transformed herself into a power bat in the middle of the 18U Gold lineup. Due to her insane bat speed and strength, Bailey has been one of the teams' leaders in extra base hits the last couple of seasons. Exit velocities in the mid 70's will make her a dangerous bat at the next level. Her offensive prowess translates to high level D2 and beyond. Bailey's arm strength is another attribute that stands out. She has played 3B and both corner OF positions for 18U Gold team. Bailey has great range and is exciting to watch when she is gunning runners out at all bases. She is a true competitor. Wants to be prepared and successful on the field at all times. Four 18u gold players named to 2025 NewsDay all-long island team

Huntington, NY – Newsday announced the 2025 All-Long Island Softball team that included four players from 18U Gold.

Newsday Player of the Year: Ava Zicchinelli (2025 - Miller Place, NY)

The Molloy University commit struck out 206 in 157 innings and pitched to a 0.36 ERA, 0.61 WHIP and held opponents to a .121 batting average. She allowed no earned runs in 24 of the 27 games she pitched. Zicchinelli pitched a one-hit shutout in the Class A state semifinal and hurled another shutout in the championship game.

First Team

Emily Lopez (2025 - Miller Place, NY)

The Farmingdale State commit batted .444 with a 1.453 OPS, 37 RBIs and 32 runs. Lopez added eight home runs and six doubles.

Hailey Trapani (2025 - Seaford, NY)

The Wilmington University commit hit three home runs and three triples for MacArthur. She finished with a .485 batting average, 28 runs scored and 23 RBIs.

Second Team

Laney Vomero (2026 - Miller Place, NY)

The Stony Brook University commit hit .442 with a 1.177 OPS, 37 runs and 33 RBIs.

Team Beast 16U Announces 2025 Summer Schedule

Huntington, NY - The 2025 summer schedule for Team Beast 16U has officially been released with a full slate of premier softball competitions.

"We are thrilled to announce our 16U team's summer schedule," said Director of Softball Operations and Player Development Jamie Apicella ." This group has worked extremely hard since last fall, and they will have an opportunity to showcase that work this summer at these competitions."

Kicking off the summer schedule, the 2025 Super 40 & Elite College Showcase is set to take place May 31-June 1 in Carteret, NJ. Also highlighting the schedule is the East Coast Summer Showcase taking place on June 7-8 in Pennsville, NJ.

Team Beast will be back in action during the independence week holiday at the TNT Summer Showcase Classic in Quakertown, PA July 3-6.

The summer season will close out with trips to the Northern Exposure Summer Showcase (July 11-13) in Meriden, CT and New England’s Finest Showcase (July 25-27) in Plainville, MA.

Last fall was the first time 16U competed together, participating in four showcase tournaments. In addition, the team participated in the 2024 Lasorda Legacy Fall League, compiling a 6-1 record and taking home the league championship . Mia Troiano (2027 - North Bellmore, NY) was named the league's Player of the Year, and Keira Legge (2029 - Mount Sinai, NY) was named Pitcher of the Year.

"This team finished strong last fall, and the momentum carried over into winter training," added Apicella. "We expect that momentum to carry over into the summer."

Huntington, NY - 18U Gold's Ava Zicchinelli (2025 - Miller Place, NY) and Addison Celi (2026 - Hampton Bays, NY) have been named to the New York high school softball's top outfielders list for 2025, announced by High School on Sports Illustrated. Both players were named to the 2025 Newsday Top 100 list.

Zicchinelli, a Molloy University commit and Class A all-state honoree, fanned 186 batters over 142 innings and posted a 1.08 ERA. She is 8-0 with 58 strikeouts thus far this season.

Celi was a Class AA all-state selection last year. In 2024, she recorded 12 wins, 229 strikeouts and held opposing hitters to a .116 average.

Huntington, NY - T eam Beast 18U Gold announced its 2025 summer schedule on Wednesday.

18U Gold, who compiled a 22-4-2 reco rd last summer, will participate in five premier showcase competitions.

“Each summer season is unique where it brings on new challenges and opportunities for the organization,” said Director of Softball Operations and Player Development Jamie Apicella . “We are excited to be participating in these five selected showcases where we feel our work and preparation all winter and spring will highlight our athletes' abilities and talents.”

Team Beast will begin the summer campaign May 31-June 1 at the 2025 Super 40 & Elite College Showcase in Carteret, NJ . They will head back to The Garden State the following weekend for the East Coast Summer Showcase taking place on June 7-8 in Pennsville, NJ.

Team Beast will return to action at the 2025 TNT Summer Showcase Classic in Quakertown, PA July 3-6.

The team will head to New England for the final two showcases with trips to the Northern Exposure Summer Showcase in Meriden, CT (July 11-13), and the N ew England’s Finest Summer Showcase (July 25-27), in Plainville, MA.

Addison Celi (2026 – Hampton Bays, NY) Pitcher

Celi struck out 229 batters and held opposing hitters to a .116 batting average. The Newsday All-Long Island second-team member batted .530 with two homers, 18 RBIs and 25 runs.

Isabella Hurst (2025 – Bayport-Blue Point, NY) Outfielder

The St. Thomas Aquinas College commit hit .475, slugged .672 and had 26 RBIs.

Emily Lopez (2025 – Miller Place, NY) First Base

Lopez had a 1.026 OPS, four home runs, 26 RBIs and 17 runs to help the Panthers to their first Long Island Class A title. The Farmingdale State College commit was named to Newsday’s All-Long Island second team.

Kate Meyer (2025 – Sayville, NY) First Base

The Adelphi University commit batted .449 with a 1.408 OPS, five homers, 35 RBIs and 24 runs.

Hailey Trapani (2025 – Seaford, NY) Outfielder

The Wilmington University commit hit .399 with 26 runs and 14 RBIs and was named to All County.

Laney Vomero (2026 – Miller Place, NY) Shortstop

The Stony Brook University commit had a 1.275 OPS, 22 RBIs, 19 runs and 12 doubles to earn All-Long Island second-team honors.

Erin Wolfe (2026 – Bay Shore, NY) Pitcher

Wolfe hit .452 with 28 runs scored, 15 walks, nine doubles and three triples. She had five wins, three saves, and struck out 70.

Ava Zicchinelli (2025 – Miller Place, NY) Pitcher/Outfielder

Zicchinelli struck out 186 batters and posted a 1.08 ERA in 142 ⅓ innings. She added a 1.147 OPS, 18 RBIs and 28 runs. The All-Long Island first-team selection will play at Molloy University.

Adelphi competes in the Northeast 10 Conference , home of some of the most successful softball programs in the East Region and the country. Kate also plays for Coach Tiffany Rowan at Sayville High School. Sayville has a rich tradition of successful softball and has produced and developed some of Long Island’s strongest and most talented players over the years.

"Kate is a third baseman who can also play 1st base as well. On the defensive side Kate has elite arm strength from the 3B position. In addition to her power Kate makes contact all the time and is tough to strike out. Always at the top of the list in all offensive categories. Daniella Roselli Named Assistant Softball Coach

Daniella roselli named assistant softball coach

Huntington, NY – Daniella Roselli has joined the Team Beast softball staff as an assistant coach, announced by Director of Softball Operations & Player Development Jamie Apicella .

“I am extremely excited that Daniella has joined our Team Beast staff,”, said Apicella. “Daniella has a unique ability to connect with our young players. Her energy and teaching style truly resonates with our players. Her passion and knowledge for the game and her caring personality has made her a perfect fit.”

Roselli (Levittown, NY) began her collegiate career at Adelphi University where she appeared in 37 games, making 31 starts. During her time with the Panthers, she was named to the Northeast Ten All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie Team in 2021. Roselli finished her softball career at Queens College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Queens College.

“I am extremely excited to join Team Beast,” said Roselli. "Softball has been a passion of mine since the age of seven. I have a close connection to Team Beast with Coach Apicella, whose philosophy and coaching methods have significantly influenced my approach to the game. I am eager to contribute to an organization that reflects my own values of excellence, growth, and sportsmanship. I look forward to working with our athletes and helping them become successful, on and off the field.”

Roselli was a four-year member of the varsity softball team at Division Avenue High School and still holds the school record for home runs (31). She was named to the Class A Second Team All-State Selection in her senior season and All-County selection each year. Roselli was named to the Newsday Top 100 Long Island softball players list three times. During her junior year, she led Long Island in home runs (12).

Roselli is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology at Hofstra University.

Team Beast 18U Gold continues the fall season at the Jersey Outlaws Fall Showcase , October 5-6 in Jackson, NJ.

18U GOLD’S VOMERO COMMITS TO STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY

Huntington, NY – Laney Vomero, (2026 – Miller Place, NY) has committed to Stony Brook University (Stony Brook, NY). Vomero (SS/2B) was awarded All-County, All-Long Island and All-State honors in 2024. She helped lead Miller Place High School to the Suffolk Class A and Long Island Class A Championships, and an appearance in the state championship.

Director of Softball Operations and 18U Gold Head Coach, Jamie Apicella commented on Vomero’s commitment announcement:

“Laney was a highly recruited athlete for us. Well deserved because it would be very difficult to find an athlete more committed to the complete game. She works tirelessly in the weight room, she works tirelessly trying to perfect her skills both offensively and defensively. This high level 5 tool athlete is staying home and playing for legendary Coach Megan Bryant. She will be able to compete in a very competitive environment in the Coastal Athletic Association . Laney will also be pursuing her bachelor’s degree at one of the most prestigious research institutions in the country. On many occasions Laney has made jaw dropping plays at short stop. ESPN worthy type plays that you just cannot believe how. Her quick release, strong arm, range and overall athletic ability fits Stony Brook’s infield pedigree. On the offensive side she is just a dynamic player. Laney can beat you with her speed, go gap to gap and drive balls out of parks. She barrels up balls on a consistent basis and will also leave the park in a big way. Usually bats up top in the lineup and provides lineup with an energy boost. Great table setter. Laney’s academic achievements in high school is parallel to her athletic achievements. Outstanding!! Laney has interests in varying courses of study and will decide her route as she inches closer to Fall of 2025. Congratulations to Laney and her family on this outstanding accomplishment. Team Beast Releases 2024 Fall Showcase Schedule

Huntington, NY - The 2024 fall schedule for Team Beast 16U Gold and 18U Gold has officially been released with a full slate of premier softball competitions.

“We are eager to get going with our new 16U group and continue our success with 18U Gold team this fall”, said Jamie Apicella , Director of Softball Operations. “As always we put together a challenging fall tournament schedule where our players can showcase their talents.”

To begin the fall schedule, the Northern Exposure Fall Classic is set to take place September 7-8 in Meriden, CT. The teams will make their first appearance at the Jersey Outlaws Fall Showcase taking place on October 5-6 in Jackson, NJ.

Team Beast will be back in action with a return to the New England’s Finest Showcase Fall Showcase in Plainville, MA on October 19-20.

The fall season will close out with a trip to the East Coast Fall Showcase on October 26-27 in Pennsville, NJ.

18U Gold’s Zicchinelli Commits to Molloy University

Huntington, NY – Ava Zicchinelli, (2025 – Miller Place, NY) has just committed to Molloy University (Rockville Centre, NY) that has a rich tradition of success in the East Region of NCAA Division II softball, to play for Coach Cassidy-Lyke . and the Lions. Molloy consistently is in contention for the East Coast Conference title and has had many NCAA appearances, with the pinnacle years being 2010, 2013 and 2017 when they advanced to the Women’s College World Series.

Director of Softball Operations and 18U Gold Head Coach, Jamie Apicella commented on Zicchinelli’s commitment announcement:

“Ava is a Team Beast player who knows how to flat out compete. She never shows any emotion and lives pitch to pitch in her approach. Playing for strong softball programs at Miller Place High School and Team Beast 18U Gold over the years, has prepared Ava for the highest level of Division II softball. She has carried both teams in the circle. Led Miller Place and Coach Timmons to a Suffolk County Championship, Long Island Championship and to the State Final game in 2024. She’s a pure athlete that excels in the circle, on the defensive side and offensive side of the game. When Ava steps out of circle she is patrolling CF and batting lead off. She is a center fielder by trade but can play all OF positions. Runs extremely well with phenomenal arm strength from the outfield. Ava is a gap-to-gap hitter that also can beat you with her speed. She exudes a confidence in the batter's box with a great approach to hitting. Great awareness of the strike zone with an inner swagger that is present in every aspect of her game. Her preparedness, work ethic and commitment to her craft has set her up for this tremendous opportunity at Molloy University. Ava has achieved many pre and post season accolades over her high school career. She was County Pitcher of Year in 2023. She was back-to-back League Pitcher of Year in 2023 and 2024. All County, All Long Island and All NY State in 2024. Ava just continues to rack up accolades in her career and is expected to continue that trend entering her senior campaign. In addition, Ava is a 3-sport athlete lettering in Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball.

Ava’s academic achievements in high school has laid the foundation for continued success in the classroom. High level student who wants to major in Nursing. Molloy University has a very strong Nursing program and is a perfect fit for Ava to continue both her academic and athletic career. Team Beast 18U Gold has resumed team workouts and training in preparation for the upcoming fall season. The team compiled a 22-4-2 overall record this summer.

18U Gold’s Trapani Commits to Wilmington University

Huntington, NY – Hailey Trapani, (2025 – Seaford, NY) Team Beast 18U Gold outfielder and student-athlete at MacArthur High School has committed to back-to-back NCAA Division II East Regional Champion Wilmington University (New Castle, DE) to play for Coach Mike Shehorn and the Wildcats. Wilmington University is a softball program with a rich tradition of success, that has become a perennial power in the Central Collegiate Athletic Conference and a very competitive East Region. Wilmington won the East region in 2023 and 2024 and advanced Women’s Division II College World Series.

“Hailey is a Team Beast player who strives for perfection in every aspect of her game. She has tremendous instincts and confidence on the offensive side. Hailey had the ability to bat anywhere in the lineup. 18U Gold Headlines Newsday All-Long Island Softball Team 2024

Huntington, NY – Newsday announced the 2024 All-Long Island Softball team on Thursday. The list included six players from the 18U Gold team.

First Team

Lauren O’Brien (2024 – Massapequa, NY) Outfielder

O’Brien, who was named Nassau player of the year by the coaches, hit .403 with 17 RBIs and had a 1.043 OPS. The senior scored 25 runs, stole 12 bases and had a perfect fielding percentage (1.000).

Julia Parise (2024 – East Meadow, NY) Pitcher

Parise hit .466 with five home runs and 17 RBIs. The Southern New Hampshire commit drove in 17 runs, drew 18 walks and had a 1.442 OPS.

Ava Zicchinelli (2025 – Miller Place, NY) Pitcher/Outfielder

Zicchinelli struck out 200 batters and pitched to a 1.12 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 156 ⅓ innings to help lead Miller Place to its first Long Island Class A title. She batted .469 with 29 runs and 18 RBIs, and had a 1.172 OPS.

Nine 18u Gold players named to newsday's top 100

Huntington, NY – Newsday announced its annual list of the top 100 Long Island softball players for the 2024 season on Wednesday. The list included nine 18U Gold Players.

Josie Alfano (2025 – Mount Sinai, NY), Catcher

Alfano hit five home runs and eight doubles as a sophomore. The Stony Brook commit had a .528 average and slugged .847.

Alex Audia (2025 – Mount Sinai, NY), Pitcher/Infielder

Audia hit three home runs, slugged .589 and had a 1.129 OPS. The junior will be Mt. Sinai’s top pitcher this season.

Emily Lopez (2025 – Miller Place, NY) First Base

Lopez flashes a strong glove at first base. The junior hit .609 with a .653 OBP, scored 27 runs and drove in 23.

Kayla O’Boyle (2024 – Commack, NY) Pitcher

A Newsday All-Long Island first team selection, O’Boyle set a Commack record with 253 strikeouts. The Southern New Hampshire commit pitched to a 1.45 ERA and earned Suffolk Large School Pitcher of the Year honors.

The Palm Beach Atlantic commit hit .371, had a .425 OBP, and slugged .567. The senior scored 31 runs, drove in 18 and stole 15 bases.

Julia Parise (2024 – East Meadow, NY) Pitcher

The Southern New Hampshire commit hit .459 with 19 RBIs and four home runs. Parise had a 1.61 ERA and struck out 175 over 138 innings and was named to Newsday’s All-Long Island first team.

Haley Trapani (2025 – Seaford, NY) Outfielder

The Newsday All-Island second team selection hit .440 with five home runs, 24 RBIs and 34 runs for the Nassau Class A champions, MacArthur.

Laney Vomero (2025 – Miller Place, NY) Shortstop

Vomero hit .535 with 23 RBIs, 30 runs and 12 extra-base hits as a freshman.

Ava Zicchinelli (2025 – Miller Place, NY) Pitcher/Outfielder

Zicchinelli pitched to a 1.46 ERA and 0.87 WHIP with 164 strikeouts to earn Suffolk Small Schools Pitcher of the Year honors. The Newsday All-Long Island second-team selection batted .451 and scored 30 runs.

Four 18u gold players named to pre-season watch list

Huntington, NY – Team Beast 18U Gold’s Kayla O’Boyle, Hailey Trapani, Julia Parise, and Ava Zicchinelli were tabbed to the 2024 New York State High School Softball Pre-Season All State watch list on Wednesday.

Kayla O’Boyle (2024 – Commack, NY) Pitcher

O’Boyle’s 253 strikeouts broke her old school record of 214. She pitched to a 1.45 ERA and a .151 opponent batting average, earning Suffolk Large School Pitcher of the Year honors. The Southern New Hampshire University commit was a Newsday Top 100 and First Team All-Long Island in 2023.

Julia Parise (2024 – East Meadow, NY) Pitcher

Parise hit .459 with 19 RBIs and four home runs. She had a 1.61 ERA and struck out 175 over 138 innings for the top seed in the Nassau Class AA playoffs. She has also committed to Southern New Hampshire and was selected to Newsday’s All-Long Island Team in 2023.

Trapani hit .440 with five homeruns, 24 RBIs and 34 runs for MacArthur, the Nassau Class A champions. She was a Second Team All-Long Island selection as a sophomore.

Team Beast 18U Gold Releases 2024 Summer Schedule

Huntington, NY - The 2024 summer schedule for Team Beast 18U Gold has officially been released with a full slate of premier softball competitions.

“We are very excited for our 2024 Team Beast 18U Gold schedule assembled for this summer”, said Jamie Apicella , Director of Softball Operations. “We are playing in five premier college showcase tournaments, where our players will have an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in front of college coaches from all across the region. In addition, our players get a chance to compete against the top players and teams across the region.”

Kicking off the summer schedule, the 2024 Super 40 & Elite College Showcase is set to take place June 1-2 in Carteret, NJ. Also highlighting the schedule is the East Coast Summer Showcase taking place on June 8-9 in Pennsville, NJ.

Team Beast will be back in action during the independence week holiday with a return to the TNT Summer Showcase Classic in Quakertown, PA July 4-7.

The summer season will close out with trips to the Northern Exposure Summer Showcase (July 19-21) in Meriden, CT and New England’s Finest Showcase (July 26-28) in Plainville, MA.

“Every year we discuss and assess what our players are looking for with their experience and where they want to attend college”, Apicella added. “We then formulate our schedule that fits the profile of our teams and where they will face some of the best competition. The countdown begins as we continue to prepare for our opening tournament in Carteret, NJ on June 1st.”
